How to Maintain A Slow Life
Jul 08, 2022
There is a growing desire to slow down. At the moment of the rapid development of science and technology, the economy is also developing rapidly, which brings more and more convenient life, but also an increasingly fast pace of life. Many people work and study hard in order to make money or realize their self-worth and keep up with the developing society. Even having a 10 min sand timer break in the middle of a busy day feels like a stolen pleasure. On the other hand, life at high speed can be uncomfortable for many people, especially Millennials. In the fast pace of life, people gradually want to escape, or want to slow down their pace, can live a slow pace of life, enjoy life instead of working like a spinning top.
For a gentle and quiet soul, a busy lifestyle chasing the praise of the outside world is exhausting, consuming and completely unsustainable. It provides no value or meaning. In fact, it's using up energy.
We need to put ourselves in an environment that suits us, stay relaxed and avoid anxiety. But that doesn't mean we don't try. We just choose to slow down and face life, study and work with a softer attitude. We are always learning, and always will be, but not at high speed to do so.
One of the main ways I embrace the simple and slow journey of life is to appreciate what I have right now. Even if I don't get everything I want, I can still feel great gratitude and joy from appreciating what I have! Not only do I appreciate these objects, but I'm always exploring ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle what I already own. Even in the kitchen, cooking for myself, I use a sand clock 15 minutes, and I watch the news, and that's the life and joy I have.
On the other hand, we should also learn in a slow life, keep a slow pace and at the same time, learn effectively. Whether it's at work or in life, it's easy to get overwhelmed and lose track of where to start. Place an elegant hourglass sand timer on your desk and close your eyes. Take a moment to calm your mind and write down all the things you need to do and do them one at a time in order to prioritize or from the simplest to the most difficult way. Every complete one thing, their confidence will continue to enhance, complete the things behind will be a lot of smooth.
